Thank you President Obama!

20081008_obama_pointing_finger_yelling.jpg I know I touched on this in a previous post, but I wanted to take the time to thank President Obama again.

Thank you for making clear what a "progressive" really looks like.

Thank you for speeding up tremendously what the progressives have been slowly and insidiously doing for decades.

Thank you for making it painfully obvious that we'd better wake up and consider what this country would look like if we let you carry out your transformation plans.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for waking up not just a handful on the right, but millions upon millions of Americans who did not really care what goes on in Washington or in state capitols.

Thank you for clarifying the objectives of the progressive elite, the progressive minority. For so long now, your permeation into our culture has eroded the values and traditions fought for and won by our Founding Father.

We've seen this erosion. We've felt it. But it has never been SO CLEAR until you came into power. So, so many of us are now aware and politically active not just because of what you and your elite cohorts have done in the last couple of years, but IN THE WAY YOU'VE DONE IT.

The arrogance and intolerance and lack of respect has shown us just how unpresidential one can be. It's possible the word "unpresidential" has been used more times in the last year or so than in every year combined since our first president came into office.

Again, thank you for showing us what progressives have been holding so close to their vest for so many years. Had you moved things along gradually, you could've pulled off what Norman Thomas (1884-1968), a six-time U.S. Presidential candidate for the Socialist Party of America said:

"The American people will never knowingly adopt Socialism. But under the name of 'liberalism' they will adopt every fragment of the Socialist program, until one day America will be a Socialist nation, without knowing how it happened."

I'm not sure anyone else could've done as good a job as quickly as you've pulled it off. Well, you've had some great help: Reid and Pelosi et al have definitely helped out. One unbelievably arrogant piece of governance after another has been SO helpful in bringing this country back to life.

If it isn't obvious how thankful we are, November 2010 should help out.
